Swap Time!
--------------------------------------------------------
The Iron Ranch swap meet was a bit damp in 2011, but there were a ton of bikes and vendors, deals all around. See you at Iron Ranch again in 2012.
You know the place, here is a link to their flyer: http://home.comcast.net/~bikeswap/site/

The 24th annual Seattle vintage bike swap was sweet this year. Picked up a '61 Streamliner in Radiant Green and a '54 Varsity 3-speed in black. Plus a bunch of parts and pieces. There was a good mix of bikes this year, several really excellent 1950s Schwinn Middleweights were there (tempting but thankfully the wrong color for me) plus the usual mix of beat up heavyweights and middleweights and Sting-Rays.
See you there in 2013!

Bendix Wrenches
>>> BACK IN STOCK <<<
Double ended with slight
rotational offset for optimal placement. For working on coaster Bendix hubs two wrenches are required. For working on 2 speed hubs only one is required. $25 plus $4.00 shipping for a pair. (Schwinn catalog not included.) Laser cut steel, nothing fancy, will last practically forever. One end is 7/8", the other is 47/64". These work on Bendix hubs from the 1950s (smooth shell), 1960s (red band) and 1970s, USA and Mexico. These also fit Morrow hubs. See the bottom of the "Books and Catalogs" page to purchase.

- Fender Rolling
- Spoke Cutting
Cycelock Repair
Got a Schwinn locking fork with a broken-off key stuck in it? I can extract the broken key and file new keys. Local service only.
Hub Repair
--- I am suspending hub repair until further notice. Two small kids in the house, too far behind on all my own projects, no time, etc etc etc. There are several shops in town that can repair internal hubs. Check out A Better Cycle (ABC) or Missing Link. ---
Fender Rolling + Spoke Cutting
For Middleweight and Heavyweight fenders. Dents can be removed from your vintage fenders, and in most cases the paint will be intact. Usually the fender struts will have to be removed, but sometimes small areas can be done with the struts intact. If you're going to be repainting fenders, you should really have them rolled first.
Standard 14 guage spokes can now be cut to the length of your choice. Buy new spokes to be cut, or bring in your clean straight-guage (non-swedged) vintage zinc spokes for cutting. Need spokes for your Krate front wheel but can't find 4 & 3/16" spokes new? Bring in some longer Schwinn spokes and they can be cut to length. Awesome? Awesome.
I don't do the fender rolling or spoke cutting, I am merely promoting it for Missing Link Bicycles at NE 72nd and Sandy. If you've got vintage fenders that you'd like rolled or need special length spokes cut, go check out Missing Link. Joe will be glad to help you out. Check him out on the web at www.missinglinkpdx.com and keep in mind that his site is still under construction.
Well, scroll on up and click around on the navigation box to see some of the great stuff on this site. I've tried to make it informative and entertaining. Enjoy!
